Frankie goes to Hollywood

Hey Guys,

I've been invited as a panel speaker in a conference in LA on Monday the 11th of September. I have vacation from 9/1 - 9/17, so this is smack in the middle of my vaca - no problem because this way my flight would be free. Sandy wants to come along for a portion of the trip. We were thinking what else to do while out there. Santa Monica? See Annie? San Francisco? Las Vegas? We also have a friend who offered his condo in Scottsdale AZ. Just wanted to get your thoughts because you both know more about West Coast and AZ than I do.

Thanks

Seattle - New York. [September 06]

Hello Frank and other Fogger (Family Bloggers) I'll be in NY from Sept. 2 - Sept 10 for a wedding. So don't leave NY that week.

Also, any plans on getting out to Seattle. Jean? Frank? Liz?

I know you all talked about it last time I was home.

It looks like I'll be living in a house for September. Thank god I'll be out of the small studio. I'll post some photos when I take them.

I'll Leave you with a few photos

This is Air Waves from Brooklyn. They Just came to Seattle to play a few shows.

Frank's Summer Plans

Because some of you have been asking lately ....
Re: my plans

22nd - This weekend - going to hamptons for a friend's birthday celebration weekend. I'm the designated (and somewhat self-appointed) house chef. The birthday party is for Rowena (aka Bing). I met her in the Hamptons last year when I was guest at Elizabeth's house.

29th - my friend's Chapman and Megan 3rd Annual Grillapalooza, later that day my friend's Eric and Jen 1st Annual Happel pool party. Luckily they are both in NJ about 15 minutes apart. This is going to be a bitch if I can't get my license and a car.

5th - Sat is pretty lite. Local bachelor party festivities for a friend. Sunday, going to get my butt up to 2 April

11th - Hiram is probably coming into town from Florida, otherwise this is a light weekend.

19th - pretty lite, supposed to be hanging out with someone for dinner. In case Hiram didnt come the previous weekend, this will be the weekend he is here. If Hiram were to come this weekend, it wouldn't be a light weekend.

26th - Montreal for a bacchelor party

2nd - going out to Sandy's house in Long Island

9th - Wedding in Short Hills NJ

Sometime in early September, I'm hoping to take a few weeks off (1 - 3) depending on what I can get away with at work. I have nothing planned whatsoever. Was thinking of spending more time in LI at Sandy's beach house.

If anyone's reading this, please let me know what you are up to this summer. Joey - when are you coming to NY again?

On my light weekends, I would love to get together and do something fun with you fellow bloggers.

Dear Abbey

Dear Abbey,

I have a sister Jean who feeds cats onions, drinks wine all day, and throws crumbs on her floor. I also have a brother Joey, he is the mayor of Seattle and has the luxory of driving to see his friends all over the place. While they seem content, I'm feeling a bit down and out lately. Not just with all the BS of getting out of a marriage, but also with work. The schedule is too demanding and not rewarding enough, the travel is really sucking and getting me down, and I just want to be home in NYC more.

Wondering what I should do to break from this rut,
Burnt

Woody!!!

This is one of the three kittens Pat and I have been feeding. Sometimes they get dry cat food, sometimes they get steak. One night they got onions because Nicole and I are having lots of fun this summer. Basically, they eat and run. The odds of them being house pets are slim to none. I don't think they have been touched by human hands at all. They live in our wood pile (hence the name "Woody"). Too bad we can't charge them rent!

Comments on comments and other fine things.

OK, Broseph. It seems we are now simply emailing each other through Blogspot. So it seems quite unselfish if I use this post to address just YOU.
Congrats on your shave...it must feel quite refreshing to un-mask yourself (I keep trying to get Pat to get a haircut, but I think he's secretly trying out for a "hairband;" backup vocals). And those pics are great! I miss Sandy so it was good to at least see a picture of her. I once drove to Bethesda, Maryland by myself, but that was only 5 hours or so. You are now officially crazy and I'm so proud of you. Also good to know LC wrote a book, I'll look for it after a finish my current read.
On the homefront, my latest news is that I broke down and borrowed Mom's vaccum. The vaccum is worth more than my car and at first I was scared to use it. Once I bonded with it (and had a beer), I got into cleaning mode and 3 hours later the house is now presentable. Today I figured I'd mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, but I sort of lost the momentum and was hoping Nicole would call and we could do something fun. No Hill blogs that I am aware of. I think you should pressure Annie to start one up.
Well. Of to thinking about mopping, but secretly I will be watching cheesy daytime TV. I'm trying very hard not to get hooked on a soap.

Summer Reading

Hello, sibs. It's been 2 weeks of lazy bliss for me so far. The house is a mess, our vaccum cleaner is busted, so I just gave up on all cleaning whatsoever and went to the local library. I discovered an author that is on the par of David Sedaris. He is Augusten Burroughs and the book I read is called "Running with Scissors."
Aside from reading and having a very fun Friday with our cousin Nicole, I also ran my very first 5K!!! I was runner #819 and I'm very damned proud of myself.
Since I feel like I am writing a very boring post, I think I'll go now and throw crumbs on the floor. There is something about a messy house that makes me want to mess it up some more. I did, however, change the sheets yesterday.
Hope to hear from you all soon...!
